Stupid - left key on - did I do damage?
I have a 2010 RX-8.
The temperature here today was supposed to be >100, so I ran out (I have keyless ignition), hopped in the car, turned the non-key to the on position, ands cracked the sunroof open. Then I left, not realizing i had not turned the ignition back off.
When I returned to the car 6 hrs later, I heard this "clicking" sound coming from the area of the left front engine well (sounded like a solenoid clicking, or an electric fuel pump) and when I got in the car I realized I had left the ignition on, and there wasn't enough juice to crank the engine.
So right now the car is sitting out there on a battery charger. This is my question - what was the clicking I heard from the left front of the engine compartment, and did I do any damage?
Any feedback would be appreciated . . thanks . . Stu
