Yes. I use oil. Sometimes I have to filter out the corn meal from where they fried fish in it. Smells like a home cooked meal as I drive down the street.
Valvoline or Havoline 5w20 non-synthetic are available just about anywhere, so that makes them an easy choice. Other brands depending on what auto parts store you go it.

Castrol GTX 5W-20.
(Surely a newbie shouldn't have to wade through hours and hours of reading to cut to the chase and get a general 'take' on this issue! Perhaps the first thing in the oil "sticky" thread should be a simple paragraph summarizing the two sides of the synthetic oil debate.)

lol thats like the meaning of life...If they should be seen and not heard when do they become non-n00bs??
I also use MRO 5W30, but used SHell Helix 10W40 for 15,000k's (1 service and 2 intermediate changes). Changed because Mazda wouldnt use it and didnt want to go from MRO to Helix every 5,000kms. Once car is out of warranty in 6 months I will change back.
Cheers
