Tach Sweep on Starting - Flash indication?
Had the starter motor bulletin change done the other day (just for the heck - no real starting problem and got new plugs after 24K miles). Since then with a COLD start the tach swings full up - down to zero - then to correct reading. This only occurs when fully cold. It does not occur when the summer heat has warmed the car, even after sitting overnight in the garage if I sleep in. Feel this must be a flash indicator, but funny since it would not do it for a tech when the engine is warm. No other problem.
Is this a flash indication.
By the way Jim Ellis in Atlanta is a great dealer. They have done everything I wanted and all bulletins for free.

i had this happen right after i got the new starter. it hasnt happened since. I posted about this and I believe someone said it happens after the memory has been reset. I forget which memory since there is NVRAM and something else. if it keeps happening to you, it probably isnt a good thing...
as for Jim Ellis in Atlanta, it depends who you deal with...
