Tail Light Sealant?

I've tried searching for this but to no avail, does anyone know what our taillights are sealed with, whether its just the traditional silicone or something else. Reason I'm asking is cuz I have massive amount of condensation in one of my taillights and want to see if I can stick it in the oven and be able to pry the two parts of the tail lights apart. And no I'm not covered under warranty

I actually drilled two small holes on the bottom of the assembly (one in the inner corner and one just under the round brake light).
Because of the location, you really can't tell that they are there.
Just thought I would throw that idea out there for ya!

^^^^^Yeah the dealership actually through that Idea at me, how well did your light clear up after you did that, was there any water spots left over after it started to dry up?

None at all.
After it dried, I never had condensation or any signs of it.

And like I said, drill the holes in very tight places so they are hard to see.
If that doesn't work, then you can try baking and resealing it.

they are plastic fused. you can probably stick in the oven to clear up condensation, but you won't be able to pry them apart.

Sweet deal, yeah I'll probably go ahead and try that then

If you are getting condesation, get a new gasket for the tailight. Mazda has an updated gasket that should fix the problem.

To dry them out, remove the tailight, then put a vacuum hose over one of the holes, this will cause air to be sucked in via the other 2 holes and dry them fairly quickly.

I took a pin drill set from the model building days and put two holes in the bottom corners at the lowest points. After 2 days no more water, no more condensate. Total Win!!

^^^^ The thing is the tail light just needs to be able to breathe, drilling holes is just a simple fix that apparently works pretty well. I know depending on how well your seal is condensation can come and go like then wind, like say for example on a hot day.

The thing is that the tailight DOESN'T need to breath. Why would Mazda put a gasket on it if they wanted it to breath. It is getting condesation in it because it is allowing moisture filled air into the taillight housing because of a bad gasket.

Get rid of the bad gasket and get the upated one from Mazda. Its not like it costs an arm and a leg.

Drilling a tiny little hole costs nothing. Relax, like I said earlier I dont want to deal with any more dealerships and even if the gasket is cheap why would I pay for something that I shouldn't be having a problem with in the first place.

I wear an anti polar bear talisman around my neck. I have never had a polar bear attack me here in San Jose, CA.. so therefore the talisman must be working.
