many reflashes are fixes for certain little bugs that come up that only pertain to a few of the cars. not every mazda3 has dtcs for p0128, but there was a flash for it. so when ppl say, hey theres a new flash for rx8s! everyone run to the dealer and bitch about poor air conditioning to get it!
thats not how it should be. and that ruff idle thing, u need to be real careful as to how u word it.

i worked as a tech at a dleaer when THE RECALL was out and part of the diag was to ask the customer how the engine was running, if they complained of a LOW idle, then id be on a 30 minute test drive surrounded by computers and wires watching the MOP stepper motor and the RPMs and ECTs and all other crap.

the cust might have meant ruff idle and it was due to blwon engine mounts, but id be out there chasin the MOP, it sucked.

theres a diff between LOW idles and RUFF idles, so tell them its ruff. its prolly the engine mounts. the autos vibrated at idle and the manuals hesitated on accel between certain rpms in third gear.....

I know one should get the latest ones as default and not asking stupid things...
only if there is a TSB or other accompanying paper. in this case the only known correction is what i stated about 06's and 07's bug.

I've been trying to find a way to check my flash level to verify that I have a post-recall flash on an 06 I picked up new about a month ago (production was 7/06 if my memory is correct). From searching it looks like there is no way to do this but to ask the dealer? Any help with what version I am looking for?

Thanks

Sorry to hijack for a moment, but… the TSB for engine mounts describes a "test" you can do (while driving in 3rd gear) to determine if new engine mounts are needed.

Should I get the new engine mounts even if my car "passes" that test okay?

Why would Mazda change your mounts if nothing is wrong with them ??
