Is there still multiple fuel maps on open and/or close loop since the latest R flash?

Is there still multiple fuel maps on open and/or close loop since the latest R flash?

I've read the older sticky on how Mazda has incorporated 2 fuel maps since the old L ecu flash update. One leaner map profile for gears 1 thru 3 and a richer profile for gears 4 thru 6.

My question is are these 2 map profiles during close loop, open loop, or both loops (which then would make that 4 maps!?).

Now up until today's latest flash "R" is there still a dual/multiple fuel mapping going on? I'm assuming the fuel curve has been tweaked along the way for performance and fuel economy issues, esp. since there is less flooding complaints.

The reason I ask is that when you go to tune the Renesis, say there is 2 open loop fuel map profiles (if somebody can confirm this) I would assume that you would have to pull double the dyno pulls to tune for gears 1-3 and also for your standard regular 5th gear (closest to 1:1 ratio) pull. Is this correct?

I'm not worried so much about the dual closed loop proflies as the purpose of that mode is for the car to tune itself for complete optimization. On a side question does ecu tuning alter these close loop parameters as well if you specifically specifiy to run leaner? Basically bypassing and substituting factory reference values for your own. If so that would make tuning for 2 more additional maps as well.

I'm trying to get an idea and correct answers of what it would take to properly tune the Renesis, especially under Forced Induction.

Nobody knows this answer? Rotarygod you there??

I would think the Renesis tuners out there would know something or at least like to know something about this.

Nobody seems to be expressing an interest in this issue?

I don't think this concern is too far ahead of it's time with the available mods currently offered on the market. Everybody always wants more HP and better MPG so people should start focusing their efforts here on this subject.

swear soemone answered this yesterday but yes
there are still the same number of maps there have been. different "maps " for different gears as well as accelration maps and deceleration maps. the decelration maps have changes for if you are downshifting or not etc etc.

So is there the following fuel maps so far on the current ecu flash:

Closed Loop
Gears 1-3 Acceleration
Gears 1-3 Deceleration (although not much of a performance aspect here, this is basically just to keep the engine alive and allow proper winding down)
Gears 4-6 Acceleration
Gears 4-6 Deceleration

Is this correct? All we are primarily concenered with is the acceleration maps I would believe. Now I would think deceleration maps would be the same regardless of transmission point to get the engine down to an idle. Now how about for:

Open Loop
Same as above or is there just one accelerating map for all gears?

That is my question.

just as you posted. open loop same as closed loop. but dont even bother because closed loop keeps the a/f at about 14.5 as i saif in the otehr thread. the only thing you can tune is open loop. the only way to tuen the closed loop "areas" is to trcik the PCM into thinking it is always in open loop. the deceleration map differences may be igniton timing and not fueling. the timing is changed for all of those as well and the split leading to trailing is never fixed.

How was this multi-map profile discovered zoom? I think I missed that thread. I'd like to do these tests myself, but my test site could only make me run a 2nd gear full throttle test. 3rd gear if I get lucky. I would like to test for 4th and 5th up to 9000 RPMs, but that's not possible right now.

I've had this silly idea of building a pseudo-dyno platform to run tests. The only difference is the lack of the actual dyno machine. Just the rollers, fans, and platform. That way, I don't have to do my tests in the dark

Oh right, I read about that from RG's posts. Damn, tuning this thing is even harder than I thought.
