Throwout bearing [vid]
My engine is out for rebuild, and I am taking this opportunity to replace the throw-out bearing. The car always made a bunch of noise with the clutch out.
When I spin the old one, you can hear the rattly sound it makes, the new one is quiet. However, the new one's top ring that presses against the clutch springs is kind of loose, you can tilt and move it slightly with respect to the base. Just wondering if that is normal. The new bearing is a Koyo bearing, from ebay...

I guess no one had a clue here. I went the safe route and just got an OEM bearing. Engine is back in it all feels fine now. Would the Koyo bearing have worked? Probaby, but I guess we'll never know.
