Tire repair kit

I wasn't sure about the tire repair goo that came with my 8. It looks like on the instructions that it's only for the 16" rim. Anyways I used on my 18" and it seems to have worked pretty well. Is there any truth to the myth about tire sealants not being good for low profile tires? Oh yeah, where the hell can I get a new bottle of the stuff :D.

The repair kit is good for any size tire, but the tire has to be replaced after using it. I would really like to get rid of my spare tire but figure I'll get a flat as soon as i do (already had two slow leaks plugged).

Once you use that repair goo, kiss your tire good bye. No more warranty and no garage will touch it. I'm getting a spare for my trunk. I was about to use it when I got a screw in my tire. I was saved by the fact that the valve stem removal tool broke while trying to remove the stem. I later saw in my manual the blurb about the tire being no good after using that stuff. I then put the screw back in wrapped with plumbers tape to help seal it untill I could get to a garage to fix it.

Read all about it in your owner's manaul (gasp, choke, yeah, I know - but it's very enlightening :D). Buy a new bottle at the dealer.

Here's what I opted to buy and try before ruining my tire with the Mazda goop: https://www.rx8club.com/showpost.php...3&postcount=11

Not to mention you are supposed to keep your speeds below 55 or 60 when you repair with the goo and only drive 5 or so miles (if I remember correctly).
