Too Much Oil?
Ok so my car was at about 980 miles this morning when I decided to take a look at my oil level. This is my first rotary car and I know im suppossed to check the oil level often due to the consumption. Well the oil level was very close to low on the dipstick and i went out and bought my first quart. I emptied what i thought was very little oil into the car, and when I checked the dipstick, it measrued a little above the line saying it was full. I know overfilling your oil is not healthy for the car. How much damage did I just do? Or is this one time not really gonna make a difference considering I didnt overfill it by too much? help me out please. Give me some good news

I don't mean to state the obvious but... did you follow the procedure in the owners manual for checking the oil in the first place? (engine fully warm, park on level area, shut off and let sit for 10 min. or so, pull/wipe stick, re-insert, re-check blahdy blah blah etc.)
And, did you wait a few minutes before pulling out the dipstick, wiping the oil off it, re-inserting it etc. after adding the oil?
Low mark to full mark is supposed to be well over one quart, (1.8 or something?)and adding a small amount shouldn't make the oil level jump so much.
