Transmission rebuild, any hints and tips?

My transmission started to grind in fifth gear, and now grinds in every gear.
The dealership said they won't replace it under warranty after an inspection, and the car has 26000km.
Luckily enough i found a cheap new transmission here because i've been quoted 3000€ plus labor for the swap.
Considering that i track my car quite often i would like to keep my old core and rebuild it with patience.
Any advice, place to buy parts and reinforcements etc will be welcome.
I'm sorry about the short thread but i'm typing with one arm at the moment because apparently i had to replace half of my shoulder as well in the same period

If it's grinding in every gear then it's probably cheaper to replace than rebuild

well maybe not, 3000 euros is a bit steep

3000€ for a new one...
i stopped using the car as soon as it started grinding in other gears than 5th, limiting it to a small grinding under high loads\rpms.
I know that it's cheaper to replace a tranny in some cases, but having some time and a spare one is useful
Anyway, any suggestion is welcome

The last guy i heard spent something around 12000€. Mazda Italia didn't even extend the the core warranty because of the number of replaced cores.
You know why? they don't even import the engine cleaner so if the compression is low or the engine doesn't run o.k they simply replace it...
There's no dealer that rebuilds cores as well, just a THIEF that does it for around 8000€...
Most engines simply need new coils so they change the engine without solving the problem.

It is definitely the worst solution i could follow.
Bad gearing for my car, extremely long gears even with my 4.777 final drive and for what i see they have problem following their domestic customers, what if i have to wait a year for the gearbox to arrive?
I believe i posted some excel papers on their gearbox thread to back up my gearing opinion.
