Is there any way to test individual coils for failure? I am almost positive that i need new coils but i dont know if they all need replaced and i dont have the money for a bhr right now

yes there is.
Also, make sure you check the connection of all the ignition wires as they can sometimes become loose at the spark plugs.

anyone know how much a dealer would cost for this? Seems like a huge pain plus i dont have the hardware to do it (the tester)

More than it'd cost to buy new ones and install them yourself I'm sure.

yea... i was just informed that coils from rotaryfx are only 160... i will just do that since i can not afford my BHR set right now... i spent 180 on a set of plugs 4 months ago at a dealer because i needed them as an emergency because everywhere else did not have them. So 160 is cheap for me haha.

Just buy a set and replace them...will cost less than the diagnostic fee to figure out whether they are OK or not....

The coil 'tester' is just an ohmmeter, but probably best to just replace and eliminate that variable.
