Is this tube important? will it ruin my motor?

I was checking my engine for space incase I install my turbo or nitrous. I discovered one of my tube disconnected/broken from the intake pipe. Can someone tell me what this pipe is for? I don't know how long it has been broken.

Where can I buy the plastic piece to replace it? anyone online selling?

Mike

That hose lets air get sucked into your runners making sure fuel doesn't accumulate in the intake. If its broken then you have a vacuum leak which could cause idle problems and more importantly allow unfiltered air to enter the engine. You can use superglue to reconnect the plastic pieces.

Get it connected!
Mazda part number for the elbow is 13-758.
Any auto parts store would have elbows that would work.
Take the hose that runs off the oil filler neck with you to get the right size if you must.

Crap, that doesn't sound good at all.
I inserted a straw to get the air flow going and taped the plastic together for now. I made sure the straw won't slip and get sucked in the motor. lol

Is this going to harm my engine in the long run?

Does BHR carry this part number? Mazda part number for the elbow is 13-758.

I broke one of those too. Mazda wanted 15 bucks for a new elbow so I went to autozone and got some T fittings, then capped one end. cost me like 5 bucks and now i have spare fittings and caps.

Simple fix, and a must fix. I would just go to autozone and pick one up.

I will go to autozone straight after work.

I will try to show you my pathetic quick fix solution before I change it out with the new t-fitting.

Autozone

Get their rewards card, Buy 20 dollars of stuff gets ya 1 point each day, 5 points u get 20 dollars to spend.

They have a Techron deal going on now. Free After MIR, up to 2 per name, household and address., so buy 2 cans of 7.99 Techron, buy that elbow and maybe some windows washer fluid so u have 20 bux, so u get a point plus 2 bottles of Techron for free. just remember to send the rebates in. (I did that yesterday)

there were some deal like that a month or 2 ago but it was V-power, did the same thing, got gas card back, not bad. Free cleaner, why not ?
