I'm moving soon to a more.. seedy area of town. Not saying its a bad place to be or anything, but I have lived in the area before and the problem is people, at night, will walk around checking to see if your doors are unlocked and press their faces up against the windows etc. and sometimes attempt to break in. I didn't care so much before because I was driving an '03 Focus, but with the 8 its annoying especially after a cleaning and I'd rather not have it broken into/vandalized.

So I'm looking at getting a better security system installed, one that will go off or warn someone when they try to open a locked door. Even better would be one that does the same if someone gets *too* close (tries to look in).

Does anyone have any input on the subject? I was looking at some Viper brand ones. This one caught my eye. It seems to have the same features as the slightly more expensive one but without the LED remote. Is Viper a good brand? Are there possibly better/cheaper options I've overlooked?

 

I have the CompuSTAR PRO. Very good, you can set it to be extremely sensitive, and it's beyond loud with Hella Supertone horns

 

I came across a locally owned place that deals with AutoStart (www.autostart.ca). They were going to give me a pretty good price, anyone have one of these alarms?
