very interesting ?
i was out testing a new product tonight and stumbled accross this..
for those of you with a scanalyser or a can scan, try this and tell me what you get...
also note flash.
and year.
the auto does not get to play..
get to 72 mph.... shift into 4th gear. set cruise to 72mph in 4th.
what i want to know is
1) afr
2) cat temp.

At a guess I would say that at that rpm that cat temps would run very hot. Since the engine easily makes more than the necessary power level to keep you moving at that rpm, it is probably running pretty lean to keep power down. My guess is that you are seeing 1700-1800 degree cat temps.

Yes, its the stock front o2 sensor. In my CANScan the AFR is shown as lambda so I converted the value. Also, sorry for the formating. It looked good when I copied it from Excel but when I saved it as text I lost all the formating...

in this test the afrs are up in the low 15s. i thought it was a bit odd as the ecu tends to richen up when the cat gets that hot...
i will look again at the front o2 sensor..
