Warm Starting and low idle Problem

Hi All,

I recently bought an 04 RX8 and so far love it. Only issue is when the engine is warm it take a good few seconds to start up and doesn't sound very healthy. It also doesn't start that great from cold but is definitely better. Also the engine can idle pretty low, about 600-800 which causes the car to shake until I put my foot on the accelerator.

Basically I'm hoping this isn’t a stuffed engine problem. So far things I've looked at are: new coils, a stronger starter, engine rebuild .

Anyone any ideas what this could be and also recommended anyone in the UK Midlands/North west area who could take a look at it? I don’t fancy having my underpants pulled down at the local Mazda dealership if I can help it!

Cheers,

Add Seafoam/ZoomZoom Clean to your list along with inspection of plugs, air filter and MAF.
