Warm up

how long do you need to let your RX8 warm up before driving? I want my engine to last as long as possible so any good ideas will be helpful, like how hard should I rev the engine I hear you need to rev it high every so often to burn off some carbon.

Yeah, read through that thread Soldier gave you. Answers a ton of questions you may have...

You dont have to warm up too long before you start driving at low rpms. I usually wait till my rpms drop to around 1,500 then drive it relatively easy until the temp gauge reaches its normal position...

As for how hard to rev it... Once the engine is warmed up our cars can take a whole lot of revs. 8s love high revs (while driving. Dont just sit in the driveway revving really high for the hell of it). Usually redlining once a day is a good idea.

Everytime I see someone recommend "redlining once a day" I wonder how they manage to only do it once a day.

xexok, I completely agree with you. My car gets redlined 15+ times a day when I drive it.
