Got Another Rotary
No wonder our 8's have so many catalyst failures - we have all the characteristics that destroy converters (and more?):
- more unburned fuel than a piston engine entering exhaust causing higher EGTs and carbon buildup
- oil being added to the combustion process via the OMP and Premix causing even more carbon generation
- carbon buildup fouling the plugs and amplifying the unburned fuel problem
- all this super heating and clogging the converter at the same time
- all this excess converter heat backing up causing higher engine/exhaust/combustion temps
- More heat stress on all engine components
What to do? Glad I run FP60.

So i thought mine was failing this week and it turns out i needed 4 new plugs and 4 new coils.. and it probably was failing, because needing 4 new plugs and 4 new coils would cause the damn thing to eat unburnt fuel..
they shoulda replaced it..
blah.. dealerships..

I noticed that all the examples had the catalytic cut in half to show the damage.

When he show me the *dead cat*, it was actually all empty inside .... damn now when I think of it, I should've asked him *Can I keep it?* lol guess not, I think dealerships need the old parts to get credit for new parts.
