what causes this noise in a turbo?

All right I think I finally found the answer. I think the high pitch noise on the turbo is caused by an anti-surge housing. Correct me if I'm wrong. Here is a perfect example of the sound.

That first one sounds like it has really bad surge - along with other issues . Not good .

Yeah I thought the synapse bov would have helped that. The last video really depicts the sound I was talking about. I really like the look of the protech setup though, with a cai of course.

I believe the other name for it is a ported shroud on a turbo.

You can see the valve is in the closed position when you hear the fluttering sound so I'm guessing that is the anti stall feature coming into play . Another good reason to run recirc vs VTA .
