What come with a Remanufactured engine? questions!
Ok so I read that remanufactured engines come with a new flywheel and water pump is that correct?
Also I would like to know if they come with a new SSV? Or does it require the tech to actually remove it? I would like to know because I am servicing my car and I want everything to be a peak performance.
I have new coils wires and plugs which I paid for. Should I worry about a dirty SSV?
I am having power loss after long drives and my reman has only about 700 miles now. Everything is brand spanking new. My wallet is getting drained :/ I want to experience this car the way its suppose to be. The day I got it with the new engine I was extatic!! WOW! what a difference. Now it feels like my old engine, bad throttle response, feels like engine is under load, acceleration in 6th on highway is poor.
I would like you guys to help me diagnose this. Im litterally going bananas and all I think of at work is what the heck could be wrong with the car!
lol

Have you taken it back to Mazda and expressed your concerns? A reman engine should have a 1 year 12k mile warranty on it. Also while your engine is new to you the remans are cobbled together with used parts that are still within spec, so you may get a good one or you may get a bad one. There are also other factors at work like the guy who put the engine together.

It comes with a new flywheel for sure, but I'm not sure about water pump... I've never read anything about that, I don't think it does. It does not come with a new SSV, and yes the tech has to remove it in order to take off the old engine and connect it to the new engine. I think because the new engine is making more power and because the SSV has been tinkered with, it could eventually cause the SSV CEL code which says its stuck closed or open. That usually happens because the actuator itself is dirty, and it should be cleaned or replaced to prevent that from happening or to fix the problem. You would have a CEL if that was your problem. Maybe your butt dyno isn't working? Jk, but all joking aside you should probably take it back to Mazda and have it checked.

all soft seals are new, hard seals mostly.
Rotor housing is always new, maybe Iron
where do u live? if u live around NYC I can compression test it for you, u can pm me for details.
oh btw no it does not come with new SSV. SSV is located at the LIM/UIM area. you can just clean it and it will work good as new, there is an updated par so if u want the new updated part it's going to cost 200-300 bux (don't remember), but it solves the problem once and for all.

say engine replaced at 50k, the warranty wont go till 100k? (years aside)

You have the 8yr/100k warranty until its up. If you get the engine replaced at 99k miles then you still have the warranty on the reman for 1 year and 12k miles is what I meant.
He said his wallet was being drained so I assumed he had to buy the reman.

so if the engine is replaced @50k, then its still in warranty for 50k and the remainder of the time.
if you replaced the engine @99k miles, the 8/100 warranty expires after 1,000miles, but the engine has a 12 month warranty, so there still would be 11 months of warranty on the engine.
