I had some problems as well, and dealer told me they couldn't help me until finally at 90000kms, she simply blew. They then put a new engine all covered by warranty. New engine seems to run great. For warranty part to be installed the original has to be broken, is what I've been told.

we get no extended warranty in UK
ive just brought an 8 2004 with 52,000 on it. starts great from cold but wont start when hot.

ive just ordered new coils leads plugs and a sea foam cleaner to see if this will help at all as a used engine from breakers yard is £1500 plus fitting

this was my email reply when i asked the dealer about the 8 year / 100,000 warranty

Hi Mark,

Sorry to inform you, you have been advised wrongly. Such an extension of warranty does not exist,
certainly not in the UK, therefore any repair cannot be carried out under warranty.
We can carry out a proper, controlled, Compression test & provide a print-out of the results, and
then be in a position to advise on state of the engine, but sadly @ a cost of £60 + vat.

If we can be of help at any time, please do not hesitate to contact us.
