You have over 1,800 posts and basically ask " What is an Automatic Transmission" I think my post was very kind. Good luck with that 20B

Nobody uses the term hydraulic transmission in relation to an RX-7 or RX-8. We have either manual or automatics. The shop you are working with is most likely referring to an automatic tranny.

No, only someone that would undertake a 20B conversion and not even know the basic fundamentals of an Auto Trans. With the amount of knowledge available to people these days its just pure lazyness to not know simple things about a car you intend to Mod.
Without any mechanical training I preformed an engine swap in a parking lot without any Internet or car experts to run to when I messed up. I would have loved to have had resources like this back in my 340-Mopar days.

So just out of curiosity, are YOU doing the 20B swap or are you paying a shop to take care of everything?

i am doing research before i pay for the engine, getting every inch info i can and try to install into my chassis myself and wanted to invite Jason from rev to tune and do the electronics for me. doesn't seem like people are willing to help here.

tried to search in yahoo. it didn't exactly say automatic transmission though.

That simply means your friend is an idiot. its like you're telling me this guy loves to eat sushi but he does not know that its actually raw fish.

do u know what a screw driver is?
Already answered.

Its good that you're doing research, but it also tells me that with your current knowledge. I think its better off for you to just leave your car alone for now. sure a swap seems easy, when you compare to the stuff you gotta do AFTER the swap.

You're not ready for that yet. trust me.

i cannot agree on my friend is an idiot. cause i know ferrari owner does that too. they are not idiots who can make money to buy cool cars.

i totally agree with u that "You're not ready for that yet. trust me." i am very sure i am not, thats why i ask. and when u ask and people flame u that is discouraging. even more to those who are new to the forum.

i hate those who just say "search". how did u know people didn't search? and how do u know how much a person know about tech? or they are new. this is not the 1st time i see people in the forum trying to show they are superior to others.

its like people saying shock absorber and dampers.track racing people will swell their eyes when they hear people say shock absorber.

so what?

That’s what this forum suppose to help each other, if you know it just share with the one that's asking, theboy is not asking those... what engine oil do you think is good? or why is my interior so hot? or what is sushi? etc... I think he has a valid question here and seeking the expert in this forum. Since you are not interested to assist, you can choose to ignore it and let the others answer. There is NO need to verbal abuse a fellow forum member who just wants to know more. So, if there is anyone who knows more about this, please assist. Thank you. :-)

OK...

QUESTION: anyone have the idea? what is hydraulic transmission?
ANSWER: Its an automatic...

Unfortunately the question is so basic that any real "expert" will not waste thier time on this question as the OP probably does not have the required knowledge for any useful in-depth discussion. But now that the question has been answered...this thread needs to die...the OP needs to then start a new thread with the next topic instead of turn this into a newbie flame fest and personal justification of thier lack of knowledge...

Toast anyone?
