What plug for D585 coil upgrade?
Just received new coils and will be installing D585 coils this afternoon. I'm going to get new plugs, too. I wasn't sure if I should stick with the OEM NGK iridium plugs or if I should use a different plug since I've got higher output coil packs?
Sorry if this question has been answered before. I spent a long time searching and got bogged down in several great "which is better..." coil debates.
Anyway, I'm assuming I stick with OEM. Any suggestions or confirmations?
Thanks!

Are there any real alternatives (Besides RX7 plugs)? I've never heard of any.
Given how quickly we wreck our plugs, this kind of surprises me.
Edit: Amazing what a search can do. https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-maj...thread-253547/

Sorry if if I sound snarky... for a moment it seemed like you might have been suggesting that I hadn't actually searched for the info I'm looking for. If that's not the case, my apologies.

Here's what I got from the vendor when asked if I should go with stock plugs or something different:
About what I was expecting. Definitely not Tier One support, but enough for me.
I went with spec NGK Platinum/Iridium plugs.
That is a very solid question Sir. The OEM Spark Plugs should work without issue but I do know alot of guys will buy an upgraded Spark Plug. I'm not sure what they are running, but this is a super common conversion so hopefully it would be an easy google search for you. If you cant find anything else on it let me know and I will do some digging.

Hahaha! Yeah, it takes a while to sift through threads to find the good stuff. Helps to know who usually posts helpful info so one can search threads for specific users.

Allow me to fill in the blanks for you (and for your chosen "vendor"); the D-585 is specified to use Platinum or better spark plugs in it's OEM application (of which Iridium qualifies) as the current output from the D-585s will kill copper plugs or anything lesser. The tiny Iridium tip relies on the output current to also help keep the tip and electrode clean for far more mileage that typical spark plugs and high-output coils only improve upon that concept. As such, the factory NGK RE7 and RE9 spark plugs will work perfectly.
