whats up guys? read please.
long story short, rough idle
changed parts: sparks plugs, coils, plug wires, air filter, clean MAF (CRC cleaner)
took it to Mazda told to to change sparks plugs and coils = $1700 (**** u), i did it myself.
but they did tell me to do an engine mount replacement(dont believe them, they lie alot) to make money
Car issue: idle fine on start up but when needle drop low about 1k rpm, rough idle starts(scratching my head till my hair falls off)
if it was the engine mounts, it would idle rough all the time....right? not just below 1k.(did notice a misfire)
anyway thanks guys for your thoughts.....bm

Engine mounts do go bad, and the rubber can actually break or wear out so bad that it causes bad vibrations. When I had bad engine mounts it would idle extremely rough at about 1k rpm but would go away below it, and above it as well. It would also intensify with the AC on.
So if you have done your coils, spark plugs, wires, then take a look at your engine mounts. If they're really bad they could be leaking or broken in half. But then again they could just be worn out and you wouldn't be able to tell just by looking at them. Mine were in terrible shape at 80k miles, just for a point of reference. It's also really easy to do it yourself.

A slight misfire can happen without triggering a DTC however very possible it motor mounts... Check to see if they are collapsed. There is a "reader" between the engine & the engine mount holder... Its part of the actual engine mount but if its resting on the bottom of the engine mount holder it will create a vibration

Here's a quote from a recent thread:
There is a TSB for checking that. If I can remember, drive the car then while you are decelerating in third gear at less than 3,000 RPM and about 30mph, quickly floor the accelerator pedal; if you feel a shake and very noticeable hesitation occurs, it may indicate that your engine mount(s) is/are worn.
