Wheel Hop?

Wheel Hop?
Ok well here's the problem... When I do a hardshift from 1st to 2nd gear I always get wheelhop. Like even if I only shift at 7000rpm I can get massive wheelhop from the car.
If I go WOT, it's really bad and the tires spin alot. I have new tires that I'm soon going to replace, but I don't think that's the only piece of the little puzzle.
Here is a Video of what exactly happens when I do that... And no this isn't my video and I don't smoke a stupid blunt and run from the cops like a douchebag No offense to anyone on this board if it is their video.

What would I do to fix this problem other than new tires?

The video in question doesn't even show a police car or a blunt. They don't even get out of second gear. It just has some VH1 pop up video factoids that talk trash.
Anyways, If you let the revs drop by about 500 to 700 RPM more then whatever you're doing now before releasing the the clutch, it will be much smoother.

No need to be an ******* and as I said it isn't my video in the first post. The reason I put the video up was to show a representation (albeit a shitty video of a Retarded guy) of how bad wheelhop was in second gear.
Then why post videos of exhausts? Everyone knows what an exhaust sounds like... Be logical my friend

heh. i'll throw in my 2 cents.
turn off all traction control.
the key is to put in the clutch first, before you let off the throttle. your movements should be deft and quick.
watching a video of ULLOOOOOSE's footwork during autocross really opened my eyes. i'll see if i can find it.

Ok thanks. I plan to get some Progress Tech's (or whatever they are called) that are adjustable so that I can reduce the wheel hop. It's just unbelievable of how much I have. None of my cars did this, except for the rx-8 of course.

any turbo owners managed to eliminate WHEEL HOP ?
Have read all the threads on wheel hop . Remedies i've read about so far :
stiffer shocks
sway bars
tyres
suspension bushes
strut brace
Most of the issues with NA cars seem to be at launch , but I want to eliminate the wheel hop i get when flooring the throttle while in gear .
Any turbo owner managed to eliminate this without making the ride really stiff ?
So far I have Mazdaspeed shocks and springs and the ride is as stiff as I can tolerate . Tyres are 255/40/18s

if i remember correctly, and this is advice from a camaro guy who hangs out on the camaro forums and we all know all they do is drag race cause they cant do anything else.
softer shocks help eliminate wheel hop, not stiffer.
some camaro guys unhook their sway bars when they go to the track
why?
a softer shock will transfer more body weight to the rear to help it get planted better
unhooking the sway bar allows for the body to twist, absorbing more energy that might have been directed to wheel hop
neither of these work for the rx8.
except keeping oem shocks and sways installed.
