Wheel well liner destroyed

So I take my newly acquired 05 rx8 into the mazda dealership last week to take care of the emissions recall, etc. They end up charging me like 170 for their full circle whatever the hell.

They tell me my brake squeal was due to my needing new brake pads, and they try to sell me "Carbon fiber brakepads" for another 200 dollars (!). I nearly strangle the guy over the phone, he calls me back 10 minutes later saying that since "I'm such a good customer, they'd do it under warranty." This was the first time I've ever gone to the dealership.

Not only that, but they refused to lend me a car for the time I left the car in, and they forget to send someone to pick me up in the afternoon.

Anyway, I'm over that hellish encounter, but the question is this:

Two days ago I hear a crazy sound from my right passenger wheel well, it turns out my wheel well liner has been demolished by my tire, and the entire thing has been destroyed. I now have a trunk full of plastic, and I'd like to know if this kind of thing is covered under warranty.

Is it?

If you can show that the dealer caused this issue and that it wasn't a road hazard then they're on the hook for the repairs.
Can you post up some pics?

The emission recall included a tank of gas and a car wash as I recall...

How was wheel well liner demolished by your tire? Did you blow a tire? I'm also assuming you have stock tires? If the answer to question 2 is "no", and the answer to number 3 is "yes", then the next question is...did they do all four corners or just the fronts when they did the pads? If they did all four and like DB said, there was no road hazard, then I would think it would be........but......you better find another dealership!

Emission recall and anything else they did at that time would've been free, but I guess they talked you into the full-circle care thing.

Stock tires, no road events whatsoever. The retaining clip things either came loose or were never attached correctly.

I had just bought the car, I wanted the dealer to baby it, so I played along with their maintenance charge. Didn't quite work. And the carbon fiber brake bs certainly was over the line.

I definitely need to find another dealership, but...is there a way to contact mazda and get some justice?

Bingo, they didn't put them back in correctly or not enough.
I think at this point your best option is just to call them and politely see if they will do it for free and point out that you believe they were never put back in on that side, or not correctly. By the way.............go check the rest of them! Think I'd give them one chance to see how they respond before calling up the chain.

There is a TSB for the brake squealing problem. Check out http://www.finishlineperformance.com/rx8/bulletins.html for the list of TSB's.
