Where Can I Get Formable Thermoplastic?
My wife has this plastic splint for wrist problems. It's really cool. It's a glossy black plastic material, maybe 3/16" thick, which the physical therapist immerses in hot water then forms to my wife's wrist. After the plastic cools, it sets in the correct shape and holds that shape. You can re-heat it and re-form it.
I want to find where to buy a bigger sheet of this stuff for a car project I'm doing. I think maybe it's thermoplastic urethane, but I'm not sure. Does anyone know (1) exactly what it is; and (2) where I can buy it?
Thanks.

Do a Google on "UTILE PLAST". These are thermoplastic beads that become moldable at about 160 degrees F. I used them with great success in building a bezel for my MP3/ Sirius Radio controller which I mounted in the ash tray cover.
There is definitely no problem with them melting at high temperatures inside the car. My molded bezel stayed solid during this past summer in NJ during 90 - 100 degree days where the inside car temp. must have been much higher.
