Whistling noise when in D and R.
Has anybody found a solution to this problem. I've seen maybe 2 topics regarding this whistle noise coming from under the car, but I have yet to see someone with the real answer on why does this happen, or what is it. Does anybody know?

If you have made two different threads about the same topic, and no one has been able to help you, it's time to admit defeat. Sorry buddy, but it sounds like your are SOL. When in doubt, bring it to the dealer. Pay the $100 and let them tell you whats wrong. Then, you can do the work yourself. Good Luck.
Edit: If this only happens when you are moving(D,R) then we could take a guess and say it may be the diff. I wonder if it is the syncros giving the loud whine.

Your going to have to give us more info as to when this is happening. Are you moving or are you sitting still? Does this occur while driving or at an idle?
I'm thinking engine mount. Pull up to a wall on the drivers side of the car. Roll the window down. Now put the car in 1st gear and listen. Then put the car in second gear and listen. Do you hear anything unusual? Does the sound change when you change gears?

Apparently I posted in your other thread for the same problem. Here we go. First, get another person to help you pin point the sound. While you go from N to D have someone else look to see if they can hear where the sound is coming from. Once you can pin point the sound, let us know what region it is coming from. Get a pic of your engine bay and show us.
Again, I had a similar issue and it ended up being my belts or pulleys, not sure which. I took a can of Belt Dresing and gave them a quick squirt and the noise has stopped for 9 months.
