Ok, hopefully someone can help me out, as I am lost... 04 Halogen Bulbs

So I replaced my headlights a couple weeks ago, because they both blew out at the same time....odd I know. I replaced them with the expensive silverstars, and everything was great for about a week. Then I noticed the drivers side headlight was out. I thought it had blown again, so I got another set of bulbs, took the fender well apart and realized the bulb looked brand new still. I turn my headlight switch on, and wham I have a headlight again. Put everything back together, and it was good for another day or so, then no headlight again.

This has been going on for about 2 weeks now, every day or so it goes out, I mess with it, and it comes back on for another day or so. Thinking a loose wire, i was very methodical the last 2 times it has happened, and its not moving the wire around that brings it back, it is unclipping the bulb retainer clip. As soon as I unclip it, the bulb turns back on...I'm talking 1/18 of an inch unclipped, without even pulling the clip the whole way back. At that point i can reclip it and everything is working again solid. I can pull on the wire, move the back of the bulb around, do anything to it and it stays on. But a day or so later, its back out, and unclipping and reclipping that clip fixes it.

Does anyone have any ideas? I am at a complete lost, and pulling the fender well open is getting old quickly

 

You have a short. You will have to localize and repair/replace. I know it's not the in depth explanation you were probably hoping for, but that's pretty much it.
