04 rx8 weird vtec sound

04 rx8 weird vtec sound
Hey first im new here, but when im driving pretty spirited (lol) at around 4000 RPM it the car gets more powerful and louder, sort of like vtec. Its not nearly as loud as vtec just like a small noticable sound, not quiet but not screaming. Mods are just coilvoers, greddy sp2 catback and a K&n typhoon intake with a gay autozone spectra filter.

Ports open at around 4200, it's normal to feel a small surge in power.
the 'weird vtec sound' is probably your POS intake.

The intake was on the car when I bought it, and I cant seem to find a stock intake. So I really dont have a choice at this moment.

If i'm not mistaken, did you say vtec sound on an rx8, lol. They should put a vtec engine on an rx8, rather than a nemesis...jk
