2004 Rx8 NEW COILS still rough idle after driving

Just changed my coils out and the car cause when it got hot it would lose power. Now when driving it has a rough idle at stops after driving for like only more than 10 minutes.

Any thoughts? No cel's

Yes replace wires and plugs whenever you replace coils. You have a 2004 probably with high mileage so there could be a host of things affecting your idle.
Please refer to info found here: https://www.rx8club.com/new-member-f...t-here-202454/

Compression test your car. You may have a worn engine.

+1^
Hot start issues are a common symptom of low compression.

I agree, get a rotary engine compression test ASAP

I guess you removed the intake to change coils if so you could have allowed dust or dirt to get to the MAF though not likely because it evens out after driving but possible. Dose the car have trouble starting hot? If not I wouldn't suspect compression loss. Did changing coils bring power back? Do you have a CAT still on the car? If so bad old coils could have started making it bad pull it off take a pic post it. Run some techron fuel system cleaner through it you could have built up some gunk some where due to old coils.

Clean the MAF and put some fuel injector cleaner in it.

If you disconnected the battery, then it is the PCM re-learning the car.

Compression tests are a really great thing to do, but I feel like they're recommended way to quickly as a "solution" to a problem. In your case though, it's necessary because your engine seems to be shot.

Did you reset your ESS profile via a 20 brake stomp? That's probably the number one cause of misfire/roughness when using new coils. If you do not do that then the PCM keeps falling back on old timings and has a really tough time keeping the engine running.
