I have a 2004 RX8 that is now a year old for me. A few problems have occurred that mostly is electrical. I am not sure if they are all related, I will list them but this is more about a specific question about the side marker.

My cigarette lighter went first, then the driver seat heater, then a light for the airbag is blinking which I am going to check the pattern and see which one. I am thinking a wire under the seat came loose. Next came the driver side, side marker. I went and got a new bulb but when I went to change it, the socket was completely corroded, and had turned green (could not see metal contacts). I was pulling it out to get a better look when I noticed the wiring that goes from the socket of the side marker to another connection almost behind the headlights had a wire loose. The wire from the car end of the harness came loose and I was thinking it being loose eventually fried the side marker.

I will have to take my tire off to get in there and see where that wire goes that the side marker is connected to. So basically there is the side marker socket that is corroded, and needs replacement. Then I have to fix the wire that the side marker harness plugs in to, I am sure I can get it back into the harness, or if I can replace that wire I will.

Those are the only issues I have, other than the throwout bearing may be a little loud. I am waiting on my tax return to send it into the shop for balance, alignment, and if I do not get my jacks a quick differential and gear oil.
