2004 rx8 unflooded now stumped...
a friend of mine has a automatic 2004 rx8. it has 37k miles and has at one point been flooded about a year ago and the dealership unflooded it. it happened this past winter and he let it sit for rughly 3 months. i hooked a strong charger to the battery and got it unflooded with the gas pedal to the floor trick. now after a test drive after it bleww all the gas out, it idles very rough. i cleaned the 4 plugs and no better idle speed. he wants to sell this car and is just tryin to get it in running condition without major $$$$$. the car will also not start back up after you shut it down without depressing the gas pedal again. rotarys are so difficult! lol. any suggestions?

if maintained properly, they are not at all difficult.
That's the problem. People blame the car for THEIR lack of understanding of it.
Anyways... the plugs/ coils are probably shot. I wouldn't be surprised if the cat was clogged or destroyed.
Check those first. Keep us posted

Put a bottle of injector cleaner in the tank, fill it up with some high grade gasoline (premium) and perhaps also run the seafoam cleaning procedure on the engine after it's nice and warmed up. New oil and filter probably wouldn't hurt either.
That's the cheapest starting point and could very well fix the problem.
