6 speed manual feels sloppy like old vw bug. :(
the car has 90k miles on it. 2004 but recently installed new engine by mazda. clutch supposedly is only 1k miles old.
i have never driven a NEW RX8, but mine is extremely sloppy... i compare to a vw bug (its not that bad but it is not nice and tight like S2000's..)..
any idea's what i should be looking at? is it just the 90k miles of use?
thanks

Change your fluid to Redline MT-90 or Eneos 75W90. Check your clutch pedal bracket and see if there are any cracks. Assure that your clutch properly adjusted and is fully disengaging when shifting.
The Aisin AZ6 transmission in the RX8 is nearly identical to the AZ6 in the S2000. Though from experience, the S2000 does have a more direct click-clack feel. I believe the aluminum shift **** on the S2000 does make a dramatic difference in feel compared to our heavy weight leather rotor shift ****.

The 3 bolts retaining the shifter ,under the rubber dust boot, havent come loose ? I did read once in here that the Chrome "stick" had parted company with the rubber isolator between it and the shifter in the tranny.
