8 causing trouble with the POLICE!
OK, so do we want truth or embellishment here?
Let's go for truth...
I'm a travel nurse who does 13-week assignments in Emergency Rooms and I work all around the country. Well, I bought my 8 used and, of course, fell into the RELIGION that is bolt-ons and add-ons. Not the least of which is my super exhaust that was done by the Lord himself...Jesse James. Long story short...our ambulance base (I also do Critical Care Transport) was on Daisy St. in Long Beach...we were neighbors with his shop...we ate at Cisco Burger EVERYDAY...so he was pretty much our friend.
Let's just say it's not a legal exhaust...
I was pulled over twice for the sound of the car, but neglected to pay the fines or show up at the State Referee because I moved back to Pennsylvania. I was also wrongfully informed by the two cops (who were pretty cool once they found out I was a nurse) that handed out the tickets, that since I was moving before the date on the ticket (that I had to have it fixed by) that I "could" forget about it and just have my car re-registered in another state. Well, I did...but haven't gotten around to that re-registering thing (tags expired in August!) because of my work schedule and that tiny 3000-mile drive back to PA.
Needless to say, my new Criminal Background Check reveals this failure to appear and, even though it's a Traffic Misdemeanor, they are still prohibiting me from working. Nursing is strict, boy! Nonetheless, I just paid $750 to a traffic attorney to get this resolved - keep your fingers crossed.
Does anyone have similar stories or solutions?
Heck, anyone know a "shady" muffler shop in the Pittsburgh area that would pass me? Lol...just kidding! No, really, now anyone?
I'm learning the hard way that it sure is fun to have my custom toys (considering his motorcycles are at least $75,000) but they come at a price!!!
Feel free to call me a dumbass and comment away!

Dumbass!!!
Hey that was fun!!
Seriously that **** sucks, never ever think that you can ignore a ticket, it will follow you like Herpes. The cops are stupid many times when dealing with their own rules.
hope it all works out dude.

Take my advice on this bro, I have a Friend at a local PD whom I honestly cannot believe was actually given a badge hardly knows the state laws on modifications to a car such as ride height, max db level for an exhaust, or (this is the best) if you are required to have a front license plate in the state of CA, so never forget about them tickets
hope everything works out for you
