I don't really care anymore though I found another company that is putting a engine in and the clutch for $4300. MAZDA SUCKS! Thanks to you guys that DID give me some advice though. For now on I'm going to take it to the same company for ALL my maintanance and oil changes.
Well, I'm curious to know if you "maintained" your 2nd motor the way you did the 1st motor. Maintenance on this motor is more than just oil changes - it is also maintaining the oil level regularly (along with all the other items specified in the owners manual). You seemed to have a misconception about the nature of the oil consumption being a "problem to be fixed", when actually it is normal and you need to check/add oil regularly (not when the oil light comes on). Have you been doing this on your 2nd motor?

I was talking about how you didn't add oil to the car regularly (every 2-300miles) because rotaries burn oil, so for 2500 miles between your oil changes your engine was low on oil which is why it probably failed. And why your second one failed as well if you didn't start adding it.

Also as far as I know Mazda doesn't rebuild engines they replace the engine core with a new one.

Mazda opened an entire plant dedicated to rebuilding the RX8 engine. The dealers do not install new ones.

The dealers are not allowed to take the engine apart so many times they do not know the cause of failure unless it is obvious. They remove the engine and off to the reman plant it goes to get rebuilt.
