ACT clutch problems
...I've posted on this before and searched on it and am still not sure whats going on.
I put in the ACT 6 puck race clutch about 3 months ago. I also did the prolite flywheel at the same time. I haven't been satisfied with it at all but I am starting to think it was installed incorrectly.
First of all, there is NO clutch pedal travel at all. If you let the clutch out like, 3 inches, it grabs.
Second, and my biggest concern, is everytime I try to take off, the clutch squeals real loud. I thought it was just clutch "chatter" but I am not really sure, I have never been around a race clutch and actually heard clutch chatter.
Third, I just noticed this the other day, when the car is in gear and the clutch is pressed all the way in, if i rev it all the way up, the car takes off forward, it sounds like im slipping the clutch and dont have the pedal pushed all the way in, but I checked it again and it is pushed in.
And finally, I just backed into the driveway 10 minutes ago and noticed this: when I back up and let it coast back, every 8 feet or so I hear a clunk.
Im about to lose my mind about this transmission. I've had other issues with second gear grinding that I have posted before....Does anybody have this clutch setup and know if this is how it is? Or does anybody know what I can do to fix it? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Sean.

I recently installed an F1 6 puck clutch and Fidanza flywheel,I have the same symptoms as your first 2, but, when I shift at 8k or more the clutch pedal stays at the floor, its as though centrifugal force is holding the pressure plate , with the squeeling , I use more revs to take off, this helps. I contacted the seller and they gave me **** about not
breaking in " the clutch.
breaking in " the clutch.

Ic, yeah more rpms helps, but the car is loud and people look at me like im stupid when I try to take off without squeals. ACT told me just to slip it a coulple of times and that would be a sufficient "break in"
the slipping/moving forward in gear is my biggest concern, anybody know if this is "normal"...

This might sound dumb, cause it is lol. But this is a race puck clutch it comes with the turf. If you want smoother, less noise, normal shifting use stage 1 street. The lifespan will not be as long either. The HP you have probably does not need a puck clutch. It's way over-specced. Moahr is not alwayz betterz. Good luck mang.
