Aem intake help really needed

okay heres the deal fella's

got an aem intake used from a fellow rotary owner the intakes in great shape..got some instructions from aem..pulled the vfad and caped the maifold nipple..got everything put back together bumper on maf on.. took the car down the road check engine light pops up..took the car to autozone to use there brain sucker multiple misfire..they wouldnt erase the code..brought the car home..BARELY the car spits at like 4500 and up and barley idles..checked the plugs all getting spark and burning the carmel color perfect plugs.. pluged the vfad back in still spitting..pulled out one screen in the rubber coupler on the aem still spitting..pulled out both screens still spits..i thought the rubber o ring was bad on the maf so i changed it to a thicker on for a tighter fit still spits..while the car was running i pulled the connector on the maf sensor to see if it was even working the car died soo it has to be working correctly..not each time i tried something i pulled the battery cables and did the 20 pump battery trick..im pretty confused on what the problem is..i think i may need to use my uncles cel and check engine light eraser..i dont know what else it is..

any takers on this problem..
