Alarm setting issue w/trunk lid

Alarm setting issue w/trunk lid
OK, first off I have researched this all day. Found a few things to try, no joy.
'05 GT AT
Problem: After setting alarm via fob or key in door, alarm sets correctly with single hazard lights flash and doors lock (normal) but after 15 sec. I get parking/side marker lights flash (not normal).
If I then go to the trunk and use key fob to release trunk lid, I get a chirp w/lights flash (it never has chirped/flashed before) and No alarm). I then drop the trunk lid to latch and alarm go's off (horn blaring away). It should not do this and never has prior.
When I started my investigation I accidentally tapped the front bumper with my knee and the horn chirped and hazard flashed once (not full alarm just one horn chirp and lights flash? I have looked on the passenger side foot well for a shock sensor but cannot see one? Yet I know the car has a shock sensor because if I smack the windshield the alarm go's off? Somebody smack me before I go nuts
I have checked the hood/trunk switches and trying to set the alarm you can not get a normal door lock with lights flash. So I dont believe that it is a hood/trunk switch.
Any Ideas Does anyone have a list of the process (chirps and light flashes) that mean something when testing? like a PC does when you start it up (beeps telling you if something is wrong).
TIA for any input.

You didn't buy this car brand new did you?
Our cars for all I know..............did NOT come with a shock sensor, so this must have been installed by the previous owner.
I have an 05 manual GT and I put the Mazda aftermarket shock sensor in it, so I can probably help you to some degree. First off, if it was wired right..............it would be behind the passenger side footwell area. The piece that would be sort of by your right calf if sitting in that seat. It only a diode, so you'd have to see if you find it wired in over in that area by looking for spliced wires and/or wire taps. The diode should be connected via brown wires(see the pic).
The adjustment box(again if installed by the directions) would most likely be underneath your glovebox, would look like a small black oblong oval kinda looking thing with a white plastic adjustment ****. Don't fool with this adjustment, but confirm for me this is your setup and then we can go from there.
I can then send you the instructions as I believe I still have them and then you can troubleshoot. Maybe the diode is wacky.....or better yet......if the person who installed it used those stupid plastic wire taps, it could be faulty contact or even shorting somehow.
The attached pdf is terrible and not mine, but should help you at least locate it if you have this type of shock sensor.

Thanks for the replies guys,
No Mazurfer I bought the car in march '09. It had one previous owner. And no it does not have the added MAZADA motion sensor on the passenger side.
Does your car have a red LED light attached to the plastic under the steering columb as I do? I have never looked for it on other RX8 that I have sat in. It starts to flash when alarm is set. The car with the key inside dash light flashes (ignition immobilizer) until I start the car.
I will follow those wires (leading to the attached LED) under the dash and see if I can come across some electronics.
Will let you know.

Ok, I found the alarm module sitting on the steering column. All the wire taps and LED indicator wiring uses the drivers side kick panel wiring.
It is a Code Alarm model 102059-3-CPLMM. An AudioVox company.
It has its own shock sensor system in it.
Found the install and owners manuals. Am going to try and reprogram it this Sat.
If anyone knows of this module and wants to enlighten me with their expertise please do.
Also found this site that was helpful as well.

Well..............it had to be some aftermarket system. No blinking red LED here!
Our car does come with an alarm system, just not a shock sensor, so that must have been added much like mine was(even though mine is from Mazda).
Glad you found it and making some headway.
If you decide to just take it out and go with the everyday alarm system be very careful in just cutting wires. Think it would be best if you just reverse the install very carefully.
I didn't go look at the link porovided but if re-programming doesn't work or take.............I start looking at those silly *** plastic wire taps(if used)!!!! I don't use them hardly at all as I like to solder and then shrink wrap all connections.
