Alternator Died
Ok I did a search and didn't see anything addressing this in the 1st 4 pages.
I was leaving work the week before last and noticed that my battery charge light was on. Everything was working properly like the lights, stereo, dash panel so I just drove it home since I didn't want to deal with an after hours drop at the dealership and thought it may be a blown fuse or something. Next morning is the same. On my way to work though the power steering, abs, dsc/tc, and other lights start coming on. The music starts fading in and out of the speakers...
I drive straight to the dealership and go in to the service writer and say that I think my alternator is toast. They didn't really believe me at first and were even going to give me a ride to work in my car and pick me up after they checked it out. After they went out to do the initial inspection they just said here's a CX-7 to drive around we think you're right.
It was the alternator... but when it went it took out my climate control, stereo head unit, speakers, and other electronics. I didn't even smell any ozone from the frying parts.
Anyone else experience this. I didn't have my car for a week!!!

Yeah... every once in a while I would get the ozone smell of electricity overpowering something but figured it had something to do with another car on the road around me. It just didn't happen frequently enough.
