Alternator linked to CEL?

Can our alternators cause a CEL????? i recently changed my aftermarket pulleys back to stock and i accidentally damaged something internally that is causiing it to whine kinda like a bad bearing.... sometimes it whines and sometimes it doesnt....... i was getting a CEL but not bad occasionally..

SOOOO i re installed my pulleys again and its making the CEL blink more frequently....... Soo im wondering if it was possible that a bad alternator can cause a CEL????
I checked the plugs, wires, and coil packs... the code is p0300

Sounds like you need to reset your eccentric shaft. Turn the car to on but do not start it. Pump the brake pedal 20 times real fast within a 8-10 seconds. The oil pressure guage will sweep and the eccentric shaft will be reset.
