So dropped my car off yesterday to get its new engine put in. As im walking into the shop I see a silver 05 on floor having an engine up it. I politely asked the tech if it was its first. His answer was the first one went in a lasted 30 miles, however, the service manager said for those thirty miles it was the strongest RX-8 he'd ever driven. What are my chance of my new engine not lasting. Is it common place now to have the replacements do this or is it a crap shoot?

Talk to Mazda Manic.

I'm not too sure on your queston. Since you ask... I say 90% chance no problem

that's not good in my books.

Sounds like the service manager had a fun test run on the owners expense.

Update!!!

Got my car back today. And all I have to say is WOW! This car has never felt this strong in the year i owned it. Which makes me wonder if i bought it with a slight problem and never caught it early. Anyway.... I can't wait to start those fun trips to 9k again.....
