Hey guys,
My 04 8 is having some trouble with low end power (not normal) and it has been dying on me when i come to a stop occasionally (in drive!). I have no idea what it is, i got new spark plugs, new wires, oil change, tune up, transmission stuff and it's still doing this. I recently took it to a dealership and they didnt really say anything.

the power band is not smooth anymore!! its horrible! from 1-3 rpms the power comes on very rough and bumpy and when at idle the needle is idling below 1!!!! WTFFF

anyone know why this is? what can I do?

ignition coils

 

ditto coils. Mine died right after I did the plugs. Do you hear a chirping sound when you start up cold, like you stepped on a small bird?

Also, you might want to look through the stuff in my sig, especially if you have an 04. Grounds come to mind.

Did you take it in for this problem or just general maintenance?
If you took it in for this problem, what did they check?
Do you receive a CEL?
If no CEL, have you gotten it scanned for any pending codes (which wouldn't illuminate a CEL yet)?

Ah, I just took it in for general maintenance/spark plug work. They did a partial clean of the throttle body and it helped low end power/smoothness, but the choppiness has come back. I know i need new engine mounts too, would this potentially be the problem?

Im going to get ignition coils tho, seems like the right move.
