Anyone got pictures of where the SSV is? or a DIY ?
So i searched for 2 hours the DIY for cleaning the SSV. I couldnt find anything. People talk about being able to play with it with their hands but I have no idea what it looks like in the engine or where it could be. I would like to test mine or have a look to see how dirty it is.
Pictures would be greatly appreciated and what I should.
We do so much maintenance on the coils/plugs/wires/MAF why not do regular maintenance on the SSV cause redlining it cant really clean it as well as we can.

LMAO... 2 hours searching and found nothing?
Either that is BS or you aren't good at searching
Especially since I created a thread in the DIY section for cleaning the SSV and testing the intake valves.
Here are a couple pics to show you where the SSV is located.
Why do you feel that your SSV needs maintenance done to it?
Are you experiencing any issues or are you just curious?

If you just want to learn how to test the valve, check out this thread:

If you want to get an idea on whats involved with removing and cleaning the SSV, check out this thread:

I can appreciate wanting to know more, but you need to learn what is going on under the hood before you start taking stuff apart.
First, download some manuals from this site (towards the bottom of the page is an RX8 section):
http://foxed.ca/foxed/index.php?page=rx7manual
Most importantly is the RX8 FSM for troubleshooting and learning where stuff is located.
Next is the Mazda rotary training module.
I couldn't find where I got this from years ago, so I'll try to host it:
http://www.filemonster.net/en/file/1...odule-rar.html
It'll be more like preventative maintenance.
