Anyone successfully defeat their airbag light with racing seat recently?
Hello! Searched on this and tried cramming both a 2.2 and 2.0 ohm resistor in the under seat airbag senor (in every way I can imagine without cutting it and soldering) after installing a fixed seat to try to defeat the airbag light with no luck. Anyone successfully accomplish this recently and have any advice? Thanks!

I just installed heated leather reclining corbeau RRS seats into my streetcar. My car has heated seats stock. I might do a diy thread since there isnt great up to date information on doing this.
On the drivers side there are 3 things that'll kick a code:
On the drivers side there are 3 things that'll kick a code:
- The airbag which I used a 2ohm resistor and jammed it into the plug further securing it with electrical tape. (now I did use 2 1ohm3watt resistors in series, which worked out great with how they fit since they had thicker wire and were impossible to fall out of the plug even without tape)
- The 4 plug seatbelt buckle (not sure how to trick this if you are not planning on using the normal seatbelt.
- The driver seat position switch which I could not find any way of tricking, so I just ended up plugging it in and leaving it under the carpet. (this normally shuts off the steering wheel airbag if the driver seat is too close. You will see the too close trigger on the seat rail when taking it off.)
- The airbag which needs the 2ohm solution
- the seatbelt buckle issue again
- Now some people talked about weight sensors and strain gauges....but i didn't see anything like that and my car has no codes. I did question if they somehow combined the seat heater with a sort of strain gauge, tested the resistance sitting on and off the chair, which showed no difference. So to my understanding there is no such weight sensor......The passenger airbag should always fire to my understanding.

Oh okay that makes sense! I pulled the whole stock seat (just did the drivers) so I would be able to swap back if I wanted to with just 4 bolts. I used the stock seatbelt but acquired another buckle/sensor, etc. Didn't account for the the seat position switch when trying resistors. Can you clarify you just plugged it in and left it under the carpet? I need to go look at it to try to wrap my head around it because I'm a visual person but it's in my storage unit.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Yeah so I had no trouble with the airbag resistors.
For the driver seat position sensor(magnetic switch) you have to retain the sensor. Now the car does not care if it is on a track or not, but just know that if there is no metal in the sensor it will always think the seat is far enough away to fire the airbag.
Here's a pic of what the sensor looks like. It is in a little nook, so you will most likely have to drill it out. I had spare seats to trash so I hacked everything out.

I will add that I also had just jammed the 2ohm resistors into the airbag connector. However I had a passenger hit the wiring and started getting the light to show up when I hit bumps. I ended up just cutting off the connector and crimping the resistors in place. I never plan on putting the stock seats back in my car though.
