I bought my 04 auto rx8 from a guy that had a body shop fix it after it was totaled(the body shop did a half *** job, I had to pull the plate lights that were stuck in the rear bumper).
It has the airbag light on and I had to have the dealer look at it in order to ship it from Hawaii to back home(matson sucks). The blinking airbag light doesn't give a code that's on the list. But the dealer said it was the driver side Pre-tensioner. So I pulled the door apart and its brand new. I checked the wiring all the way to the module and seen nothing wrong. Maybe a bad aftermarket pre-tensioner? Any insight before I start a parts monkey frenzy.

 

you need to check it at another dealership who knows what they are doing and be able to tell which part is not working right away

keep in mind there are fake abs module and they WILL cause problems, i said that cuz u said the car was at a shitty body shop. they might use some fake **** cuz its cheap
