AZ Battery Problems

Hey everyone I am fairly new to the site, but I have read through most of the articles and things and must say a lot of the info here is very accurate and helped me a lot fixing my RX-8.

I have a RX-8 '04 and my problem for the past year has been my battery.
I've had to replace my battery about 3 times for the past year and am wondering if that is normal.
I don't really know what is eating my battery so much and all previous cars I owned I never had to replace a battery so often.

No... replacing the battery that often should not be considered normal.
Have you had the alternator checked?
Places like Autozone will check it for free I believe.

what modifications have been done to the stereo/speakers or interior/exterior lighting?

Make sure the trunk is CLOSED. get in the car and make sure the doors are CLOSED. open the pass thru to the trunk. is the trunk light on?

I will check those as soon as the new battery gets replaced.
I bought the car used so I would have to contact the owner-previously about it.
I don't think he mentioned anything about making changes to the car stereo/speakers or the lightings. They are stock.
I have noticed that my alarm doesn't make a sound when I don't close the doors or trunk.
Thanks again for the help
