Brake Caliper Issue - Rebuild/Replacement
My 04 Mt is currently my Daily/Track which will later just be track.
The issues started after my last track day. Lots of noise coming from the brake rotor rotation.
Current issue I'm facing is, it feels like the brakes aren't releasing. The front wheels don't spin freely. Feels like someone is holding the pedal down a bit. I took everything apart and regreased everything, including the pins. Still having the issue.
i bought a rebuild kit that comes with new pins. Hoping a refresh does the trick.
Hoping a rebuild does the trick, my next solution is new calipers. I know the oem factory calipers are really good for the track, so my question is: Are there any off the shelf calipers that are just as good, and can handle track abuse?
I can look for a parts car, or are remans good?
Any one here replaced them before a track day?
Any info is great, thanks.
Currently have: Steel lines, centric slotted, GLoc R10/8 brake pads.

I only do light autocross, and very spirited mountain driving. I still run on the good ole autozone duralast remans. Before I was on the powerstop calipers.....which are just more expensive because they powdercoat rebuilds or remans. Paired with hawk street 5.0 pads is enough to lock up tires. Up to you on rotor slotting/drilled/plain
Otherwise you are looking at custom Big Brakes or lightweight brake kits. Which goes up to $3-15k depending on how far you want to go.

i just saw napa has some that are coated in black, so I think I'll get those.
I agree that bbks loook cool, but for that money I can get more seat time if a set of remains work just as good. I'll at least have the factory ones rebuilt as back ups.

Some remans come uncoated, not too hard to just grab caliper paint for whatever look you want.
As far as I have seen, the BBKs on the market dont actually increase brake torque much. For the most part the benefits they provide are to drastically cut down unsprung weight.
