i hear ya on that lol..

i dont have the right lug nut wrench as its not a 19mm and 22mm is way to big as my "tool" box is missing the lug wrench and i have a dam lug key that looks like a$$ so i hope it doesn't snap like the one did on my talon... such a pita. but i grabed the break sheld or rock sheld what ever, and a bunch of pepbles fell out, but i can still here it. It goes to a local shop tomorrow to get up on a lift to see what the issue is. Ramps just dont cut it lol

^ Please let me know what causing it. I have a feeling its because the pads are done. It should be a squeak though which doesnt make sense to me. Anyways ye let me know how it goes.

shop couldn't get me in, had a "on call" to tend with.

so i jacked it up and spun the front wheel and a crap ton of pebles came out, so dont know if it was just them bunched up behind the sheild or what. But as soon as i can get it back over and have them double check, I'll let you know... dang blasted pebles lol

If you have never taken your brakes off I suggest you get some help. There are a number of things that can go wrong, from dropping it and damaging the brake line, to loosing a shim of the pads comming unclipped and you getting into trouble. Never let the brake caliper hang on the brake line either, always set it someplace or use mechanics wire to hang it.

There is more to it than just removing two bolts. You will need to remove the bracket from the caliper. Check the pads, clean the shims. I mean they should look brand new before you put the assembly back together. Also the floating pins will need to be cleaned and regreased if your taking the assembly apart. They should slide freely with no trouble. You will need to move the piston in to make sure its not stuck and is floating freely, and then reassemble the entire unit.

I had that similar problem with my front left calipers after I changed my brake pads last year. Try checking the fasteners and clips that hold the brake pads in place; if the pads fell off the caliper once it's removed from the bracket, the fastener/clip may be bent causing the pads to freely move and hit the calipers as you apply the brake to slow down. I can't remember if the rear have a sliding bolt like the fronts do. But, buy a Brake Caliper Rebuild Kit or a pack of Brake Lube at AutoZone similar to the one below to re-grease the floating pins, as DocBeech suggested.



Now, for the "clucking" noise you hear as the car slows down to a stop. Does anyone know how much pressure is applied to the rear compared to the front calipers as we press the brake? That might explain why the sound only appears during that time

Alright guys... so ive had enough this morning and picked up a new set of rear pads this morning and replaced my old ones. It was easy, ive done it before on other cars. Everything went smooth and i bedded them and everything. And guess what.......... GOODBYE CLUCK CLUCK CLUK... HELLO SILENCE I was so happy when i went out for a test drive and slowly press the brakes... no noise. Thanks for the info everyone

Above.. I had the same problem. Slotted and cross drilled rotors.. two pebbles were stuck in the holes on the rotors and squeeking like a beaaatch.

I rather have the basic rotors than the slotted cross drilled because of these kind of issues, like things getting stuck thru the holes and cracking around the holes.
