Broken Tail light mounting screw
In attempting the tail light condensation repair one of the two mounting screws broke off flush at the base where it comes out of the tail light itself. Is there a way to replace the whole mounting screw ? Any other possible ideas to better secure the tail light without the mounting screw ? Any advice is appreciated.

Zoom Zoom....
Too bad.
If you still have the stud attached to the screw, the try re-gluing with a good cryocyanide super-glue (krazy glue / locktite)
If the stud has shattered, then roughen-up the housing and mould a new stud out of JB weld putty. Let harden and drill a pilot hole.

Tried the super glue epoxy. Snapped right off again. This pic shows the bolt in question (blue circled item) https://www.rx8club.com/attachment.p...id=99213&stc=1
I am wondering if you can dig out the mounting bolt where it comes out of the tail light itself and replace it with a new one. The problem with the fixes above is the mounting screw sheared right at base and when you glue it and then try to install by replacing the nut it comes apart when it gets snug or when the car drives around and hits a bump.
I have not tried JB weld yet but think the same result will occur as glue did.
Just looking for brilliant ideas I guess.

The previous owner of my 04 had broken both mounting screws off my drivers side tail light. (My guess attempting to fix the fishbowl) Reading through the posts on this site, I decided to invest in a tube of Black RTV and some self threading nuts. The faulty gasket was securely attached to the car, so I cleaned the area and applied the Black RTV along the obvious seams where the cluster came in contact with the gasket. Additionally, I applied a spot of RTV to the "x" brackets that help stabilize the cluster to the back of the car. Finally, I used the self threading nuts on the guides that pass through into the trunk to hold everything together while the RTV curred. As time passes Ill update how well this holds together, but as far as I can tell, that tail light is NOT going to come off, even without the mounting screws.
