Cant get into 1st... Sometimes
Sometimes when I'm at a stop I cant get into 1st. No grinding no noise it just wont go. Its like something is blocking it.
I'll stop. Let off of the clutch all the way and step on it again. Then it gos in
Keep in mind I have to do this fast cus I dont sit at the lights with the clutch down. I Dont start to step on it to get in gear untill the other traffic light turns red and I know my light will be green soon.
What can this be?

Synthetic gear oil?
Works for me to but as of right now its only about two times a month. If even that.
I find shifting into second then first resolves this issue for me.

Mine feels like it has a catch about half way in the throw for first and second. I took it to the dealer several times and they dont know and says it is normal. I took it to a person that has one and theirs doesnt do it. I just feels cluncky in first and second only. When I shift to third, it is smooth. Mine feels like if, you put the shifter between first and second then, push up or down, you feel a little catch, just slightly that is, between the center of the gate between the gears and shifter being in that gear. Anyone else have this kind of feel. Also, out of the blue from time to time, going to second will want to grind even when the clutch is to the floor. Happens rarely.

This happened to me a lot in my integra. I either had to pump the clutch a couple times or do the second to first shift. As others have said, try some new tranny fluid. Redline MT90 works great for me

I have already changed the trans fluid to synthetic redline and didnt seem to help. I have not had the assembly checked unless they did the few times i took it back to the dealer. I dont really trust the dealers these days cause they dont seem to care about what you tell them. It is still under warranty so any work on the car other than minor performance work, I have to take it to a dealer to check it out. I take my car to a local person that specializes in Mazda and rotaries. He doesnt want to work on it for the clutch due to the warranty as well. I keep taking it to the dealer so they have record of it. If you keep record of it, they cannot put the parts and labor on you for the full of the warranty if it really was defective. I will probably take it back to the dealer again soon. It is a 60 mile trip for me one way so dont go unless I really have to. I will tell them about the clutch pedal assembly and make them look at it again. The only other thing it could be that I can think of is, it could be the synchronizers in the trans. It is like, you have to run the shifter through the gate of first and second one time and then, you dont feel the catch anymore (as if it is lined up as it should be) I work on electrical and mechanical stuff at my job and this like trying to fix an electrical problem that only happens every once and a while. When shifting the gears, it sounds a little clunky from outside the car too. Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Well like I said its a blue moon thing so the day it gets towed is the day it gets a new clutch.

Well, something is wrong with your transmission, possibly bad synchromesh. What happens is that it won't go into gear because your synchros aren't spinning. What you're basically doing is very similar to double-clutching without actually pressing the gas pedal. You depress the clutch in neutral to get the synchros to spin up, step on the clutch again and put it in to first.

I zoom therefore I am.
are you using the AFE SS? I had a problem not being able to shift into 6th and it turned out the bushing at the end was starting to wear. If you have the SS swap in the stock shifter and see if that clears up the issue. I sent an email to Richard and after sending my old SS to him had the new one within 3 days.
